Your First
Acupuncture Visit.

 What to Expect?

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about your health, lifestyle and what you would like support with. Your acupuncturist will take time to understand your concerns, explain their recommended approach and answer your questions before your care begins. Your appointment will be tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Before Your Appointment

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to your acupuncture appointment. After you book, we’ll email you a confirmation with a link to complete your new patient paperwork. If you’re unable to complete it online, please arrive 15 minutes early so you can fill it out at the practice.

If your visit relates to an ACC claim, please bring your claim details with you.

Care Tailored to You

Your acupuncturist will recommend an approach based on your health, what you would like support with and your individual goals. This may include acupuncture on its own or, where appropriate, techniques such as cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion or Tui Na. They’ll explain their recommendations and discuss what your ongoing care might look like before you decide how to proceed.

ACC Acupuncture

If you have a valid ACC claim, acupuncture may be included as part of your recovery. ACC funds up to 12 acupuncture sessions within 12 weeks of your first acupuncture appointment for that injury. A $20 surcharge applies to standard ACC acupuncture appointments at Chiropractic Touch.

No-surcharge acupuncture is only available when you have a valid ACC claim AND you meet one of the following criteria: you hold a Community Services Card, are aged 65 years or older, or are a student. Without a valid ACC claim, our standard private acupuncture fees apply.

Don’t have an ACC claim yet? If your injury may be eligible for ACC, our team can help you complete the necessary paperwork in practice. A $40 initial ACC consultation fee applies when we complete a new claim.

We understand that circumstances can change. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please talk to our team so we can discuss your situation.
