Unlock Your Brain’s Superpower: How Your Thoughts Can Shape the Life You Love

The Habit Trap: Why We Keep Doing the Same Old Things: Find out why 95% of your behavior is on autopilot — and how to take back control.

Have you ever wondered why we’re so keen to ask you what’s been making you smile lately? Or why we’re always nudging you towards little daily mental relaxation rituals? Spoiler alert: your thoughts might be way more powerful than you ever imagined. Seriously, your brain is like a superhero in disguise!

Here at Chiropractic Touch, we’re packed full of tips and tricks to help you live healthier, happier, and more vibrant lives. But let’s be honest — making those positive changes? Sometimes it feels like climbing Everest in flip-flops, right? So why is it so tricky to shake old habits even when you know they’d do you good?

I just finished an eye-opening read called Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza — a world-famous neuroscientist and chiropractor who’s basically a mind wizard. His message? We can actually create the life we want every single day by rewiring how we think and feel.

Dr. Dispenza’s latest research blows the lid off the idea that your mind and your environment are separate. Nope — your reality is an extension of your consciousness. Cool, huh? Emotions are the magic sauce that tie our experiences together and shape who we are. They’re the vibes that color our moods, influence our actions, and even mold our personalities. He calls emotional intelligence the art of “getting on with life” without letting old, messy feelings run the show.

Here’s the kicker: about 95% of who we are is on autopilot, stuck in subconscious programs from our past. So how can you build a shiny new future if you keep replaying the same tired old emotional playlist? The trick is spotting those pesky, unhelpful thoughts — you know the ones: “I’m not good enough,” “I’ll start tomorrow,” “Someone else will handle it.” When you catch those thought patterns, you can stop them from hijacking your brain and redirect your energy towards becoming your best self.

So, how do we do this in real life? Meditation is the game-changer. In ancient languages, meditation means “getting to know yourself” — and that’s exactly what it helps you do. Dr. Dispenza explains how meditation breaks old brain wiring and builds fresh new neural paths that empower you to take control of your thoughts and emotions. It’s like hitting the reset button on your brain!

I’m still a meditation rookie myself, but here are some golden tips from Dr. Dispenza that make it easy to turn meditation into a daily habit:

  • Find your cozy zone. A comfy, quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.

  • Get real with your feelings. Think about an emotion that’s been bugging you and jot down all the negative thoughts that pop up with it.

  • Breathe and release. Sit comfortably, focus on your breath and the space around you, then consciously let go of those unhelpful thoughts and feelings.

  • Focus on the good stuff. Channel your energy into gratitude for what you have and excitement for what’s coming.

  • Feel better than before. When you finish, you should feel lighter, happier, and ready to take on the day as a better version of yourself.

If meditation feels tricky at first, don’t sweat it! There are tons of mindfulness apps and guided podcasts to help you ease into it.
